A Distant Medley

I was standing all alone against the world outside…

He is the product of technology, conceived from the mind of a man and was shaped into his form. He was to fulfill a mission to do good in the world, but that did not mean that the world would treat him kindly.

You were searching for a place to hide…

“No one could be living an existence as empty as mine or emptier.” He thought to himself. He was wrong.

Lost and lonely…

Aashi Uriana proved to be the exception

Now you’ve given me the will to survive…

Eiko, the clone of Trunks, was a soldier from the very beginning. A warrior-vagabond, fighting and wandering, seeking a better and more meaningful purpose to his life and performing noble deeds along the way.

I might need you to hold me tonight…

It took him time to realize that a new purpose had walked into his life. And that reason was heaven sent, so to speak.

I might need you to say it’s all right…

How was a creature like him able to feel this way towards someone? It was all new and strange to the noble soldier, like taking a journey into unknown lands.

I might need you to make the first stand…

Eiko was in the mountainous region of the Nexus, sitting down and letting his feet hang over the edge of a cliff. He sat there contemplating. Was he treating Aashi the way that she deserves to be treated?

Because tonight I’m finding it hard to be your man…

It comforted him knowing that he has a heart capable of at least understanding all the things that which human hearts unknowingly take for granted. But understanding and experiencing something are two very different things.

Years gone by and still…

Being together for months seemed long to Eiko, yet he knew that it was too short of a time for him to actually feel what he does towards the fallen. Someone that shared so many common traits with him; It seemed too good to be true that such a person even existed.

Words don’t come easily…

So many things he could and wanted to say…But how was he to tell her?

Like “I love you.” “ I love you.”…

If a heart is capable of emotions, isn’t it capable of being deceived as well? No, Eiko refused to believe that Aashi was nothing more than a tool of deception.

I don’t want to make up to the reality…

Her soft smile and beautiful eyes haunted his mind while his trenchcoat flapped in a strong gust of cool air. He closed his eyes and inhaled deeply, taking in the freshness.

Of you not being here with me…

Thoughts of her gave Eiko the feeling that she was sitting right next to him. But when he opened his eyes, he realized that he was alone.

I need you like water, like breath, like rain…

Eiko got to his feet and walked along a mountain path to a place that overlooked Aashi’s usual thinking spot, the Nexus sea. Something about this physical distance from her gave the soldier a peculiar feeling. She’s got many things on her mind…but how bad is it that she wishes not to bring it up to him?

I need you like mercy from heaven’s gate…

Could this truly be love? Eiko, a man with hardly much of a past, trying to look for a future, and living only for the present, in love with a former Sentry of the Astral Realm. He knew his name meant Honor, thus he has to do everything in his power to uphold the virtue of his name.

There’s a freedom in your arms; it carries me through…

He did not know what exactly was his mind thinking about, or what sort of problem is troubling him. He knew one thing however, as hard as it seemed for him to believe…

I need you…

He loved her.

When we’re hungry, love will keep us alive…

And that’s all that mattered.
